The Hens Get Even | One-Hundred-Word Story

Despite the egg pecking incident, Sam doesn’t realize just how upset the chickens are by the loss of their friends, Heather and Marietta. Still, he knows something’s off, so he placates his feathered “friends” with dried mealworms. They stop their sabotage. One early morning, Sam gathers the eggs. Carrying the full basket out of the coop, he slips and falls on a pile of strategically placed chicken manure. Out cold, he awakens with a large hen standing on his chest–staring vengefully into his dazed eyes. Sam moves his family back to the city and never eats chicken again. “Game Over.”

David, I am just catching up on my Saturday morning reading after attending a Bible teacher training earlier today.
This story is hilarious and really made me laugh.

Thanks, brother. I’m grateful for your encouragement as I share my flash fiction with the world. How was the Bible teacher training?

It was excellent. A great time in the Word with some of God’s people. A friend of mine led the training, so it was a great way to reconnect.
