Doug and Charlie: Charlie’s Trade | One-Hundred-Word Story

It’s an interesting dynamic between zoologist and squirrel monkey. Doug’s tree house in the mid-level canopy of the Amazon is a research station to study the local primate population, but Charlie doesn’t know that. To him, this is a fascinating stranger with plenty of tempting objects to investigate. Charlie also deploys his daring nature to get free fruit from Doug. Here’s how it goes: He sneaks into Doug’s lair before dawn and takes an item, usually his favorite fountain pen. Doug then trades Charlie a piece of fruit to get the item back. The game is on in the Amazon.
