Two Halves | One-Hundred-Word Story

The neighbors looked forward to seeing Diego every morning, walking his Great Pyrenees. Four blocks down and four back, like clockwork. When the retired Army 1st Sergeant died, the community grieved for both Anna, his widow, and for Max, who had lost his walking buddy. Yet, one morning, the most amazing thing happened. A long-time resident looked out and saw the dog walking himself! Four blocks down and four back, along the exact same route. This went on for several days, until he was joined by a new friend, George, a recent widower. The two halves made a new whole.

Poignant. Thanks for sharing this tale, David. God is good! It’s great not to walk alone and have a walking partner.

Thanks, Rainer. The story about the dog is real. I added the widower to close the circle.
